The shuttle bus service in the Lagoa do Fogo (Fire Lagoon) visitation area is designed to regulate vehicle traffic in order to enhance the quality of the visitor experience and ensure respect for nature.
During this period, access to the road between Caldeira Velha (Ribeira Grande) and Casa da Água (Lagoa) will be restricted to all vehicles, except for tourism company vehicles and taxis.
Operating hours:
9 AM to 7 PM, every day.
Price
The shuttle is free for citizens resident in the Autonomous Region of the Azores and has a
price of 5 euros for non-residents over 6 years old of age.
Tickets
The tickets can be purchased previously online at https://lagoadofogo.pt/ or at São
Miguel’s establishments that join the ticketing system.
With a single ticket, passengers may choose to take one or both itineraries, leaving the
bus at any stop point and resume the route whenever they want.
Duration of the Journey
Each itinerary has an estimated duration of about 60 minutes, but time spent it will
depend on the number and duration of each user’s stopovers on the chosen route.
