Founded in 1862 by Bernardino da Silva, the Cerâmica Vieira Factory is a true icon of ceramic tradition in São Miguel, Azores.
With over 150 years of history, this factory has remained in the same family for five generations, preserving the artisanal techniques that date back to its early days.
Authentic Handcraftsmanship
- Artisanal Process: Cerâmica Vieira is the only glazed ceramics factory on São Miguel that produces all of its pieces in-house. The process includes wheel-throwing and hand-painting, allowing each item to be unique and reflect the skill and artistry of the craftsmen.
- Custom Decoration: Designs and decorations are left to the artistic discretion of the artisans, resulting in pieces that embody the rich cultural heritage of the region.
