The Azores is a unique destination for thermal water enthusiasts. In São Miguel, the volcanic pools offer much more than just a bath: they provide therapeutic experiences set in breathtaking landscapes, where nature and well-being meet in perfect harmony.
In this article, you’ll discover five locations with thermal pools. Visit at least one, if possible two, or even all of them! Each one is quite different from the others. And if you want to know which one suits your needs best, feel free to send us a message and speak with one of our local consultants.
What is the best time to take hot baths?
There is no “best time” of the year to visit these places. The temperature in the Azores is quite constant. While it gets a bit warmer in the summer, the winter is not as harsh as in mainland Portugal or other European countries, for example.
If possible, avoid visiting during the hottest days of your stay. Since the water temperature is quite high, you may feel uncomfortable. It’s better to go in the morning, at night, or on colder or even rainy days.
