Itinerary
This activity begins in the picturesque village of Sete Cidades, one of the most beautiful natural landscapes on the western side of São Miguel Island.
To start, the group crosses the bridge separating Lagoa Azul from Lagoa Verde while admiring the view and heads toward Baía do Silêncio. Returning to the bridge via dirt trails, get ready for a long and steep climb on the main road to the viewpoints of Lagoa de Santiago and Cerrado das Freiras.
At Miradouro da Vista do Rei, enjoy a panoramic view of the lagoons and observe the abandoned “Monte Palace” hotel. Next comes a more adventurous trail along Cumeeira on a gravel road. The tour ends in the heart of Sete Cidades village, where São Nicolau Church is located.
